Inviting your child's teacher

3 min read

In a nutshell

You can invite a teacher who knows your child well to contribute classroom observations. They receive a secure link and do not need to create a Threadline account.

Who should I invite?

Choose a teacher or educator who knows your child well enough to comment on their everyday functioning in a school setting.

For many children, this will be their current classroom teacher.

Depending on your child's circumstances, another educator who knows them well may also be appropriate.

Sending the invitation

From your child's assessment preparation journey, select the teacher invitation activity and enter the requested details.

This may include:

  • the teacher's name
  • their email address
  • their role or relationship to your child

Threadline then sends the teacher a secure invitation.

What does the teacher see?

The teacher receives an email with a secure link to provide their observations.

They do not need to create a Threadline account or download software.

The process is designed to be straightforward and respectful of a busy teacher's time.

Good to know

Teachers are asked to describe what they observe. They are not being asked to diagnose ADHD or make a clinical judgement.

Can I invite more than one teacher?

In some circumstances, information from more than one educator may be useful.

For example, your child may be taught by multiple teachers or another staff member may know them particularly well.

Where Threadline allows additional invitations, you can invite another educator. Your child's clinician remains responsible for deciding which information is relevant to their assessment.

How will I know when it is complete?

Threadline keeps track of the teacher invitation within your child's Assessment Package.

You will be able to see whether teacher input is still outstanding or has been completed.
