How does Threadline work?

3 min read

In a nutshell

Threadline guides you through preparing your child's Assessment Package one step at a time. You collect information, complete questionnaires, invite a teacher and add existing reports, then Threadline organises everything into one package for your clinician.

1. Start your child's assessment preparation

You'll begin by creating your account and adding some basic information about your child.

You do not need to have every report, questionnaire or teacher detail ready before you start.

2. Work through guided activities

Threadline breaks assessment preparation into clear steps.

Depending on your child's circumstances, you may be asked to:

  • describe your concerns
  • provide background and history
  • complete parent questionnaires
  • invite your child's teacher
  • upload previous reports or assessments
  • add information about school, sleep and everyday functioning

You can complete these activities over time. There is no need to finish everything in one sitting.

3. See what is complete and what comes next

As you work through each activity, Threadline keeps your information organised within your child's Assessment Package.

You can see what has been completed, what is still outstanding and what you can work on next.

Good to know

Some parts of the process may depend on information from other people, such as your child's teacher. Threadline helps you keep track of these items too.

4. Review your Assessment Package

Before sharing, you can review the information you have collected and update it where needed.

Your Assessment Package brings together information from different sources. It does not make a diagnosis or clinical conclusion.

5. Share it with your child's clinician

When you're ready, you can share your Assessment Package with your child's clinician.

Your clinician will use it alongside their own interviews, medical assessment and any other information they consider necessary.

Threadline helps organise the preparation. Your child's clinician remains responsible for the assessment and any diagnosis.
